Capacity Marketing & Handling with one Integrated Software Solution
After establishing transport handling routine operation for nomination management and delivery schedule management with GAS-X Grid in the first step, the integrated component for capacity marketing and allocation now successfully went live at GASCADE Gastransport GmbH in the second step.
From now on, GASCADE will market their transport capacities with the GAS-X Grid software in interaction with the European online capacity platform PRISMA. All capacity sales and auctions will be controlled and processed using the backend system GAS-X Grid.
This means that all marketing, handling and billing processes are integrated in one software solution with one shared, non-redundant master data management. Complex interfaces between capacity marketing, nomination management and billing were eliminated with the new solution.
Transport customers can use portal applications for nominating and balancing group declarations; a portal application for submitting internal orders is available for downstream grid operators. All portal applications are provided via the Sopra Steria SaaS portal.
The new system was implemented on a scalable, highly available application cluster. 24/7 Sopra Steria Support was activated to provide application support for the marketing and handling process.
The final milestone of the X-Change project will be the go-live of the marketing and handling processes for OPAL Gastransport GmbH & Co. KG and NEL Gastransport GmbH on the GAS-X platform in the upcoming weeks.
Cooperation between GASCADE and Sopra Steria in the project is built on deep trust, shared professional expertise and the constant aspiration to efficiently model the relevant market processes.
The next challenge for the GASCADE and Sopra Steria project team and the flexibility of the GAS-X solution platform already awaits: The marketing, handling, allocation and billing processes for the Virtual Interconnection Point (VIP) Czech Republic are to be established by November 2018.
