Sopra Steria Consulting and GasVersorgung Süddeutschland (GVS) have successfully completed the implementation project for the Dispatching Monitor. The Dispatching Monitor is part of GAS-X BCM, a solution that was already established at GVS. As a result, GVS – and other gas suppliers – can now use GAS-X BCM to determine their planned sales volumes and required gas quantities more conveniently and efficiently for a specific period.
The Dispatching Monitor comprises the following functions in the daily process:
- Checks for completeness and plausibility of the received allocation data
- Requests for sales volume forecasts on different aggregation levels (ranging from system point to balancing group) from the metalogic forecast tool mP Energy : Triggering via web service interface from GAS-X BCM, provision of weather data also from GAS-X BCM
- Export of planned sales volumes to portfolio and nomination management systems
GVS has used GAS-X BCM for several years for billing preparation and billing. The way was thus already cleared for the implementation of the Dispatching Monitor: Master data, allocation data import as well as integration into GAS-X Billing were already available. Double data maintenance of allocation data is not necessary anymore due to the flexibly controllable connection of downstream processes.
GasVersorgung Süddeutschland GmbH is one of the largest German gas companies and supplies natural gas to municipal utilities, regional gas suppliers, industrial customers and plants both nationally and internationally. GVS’s main fields of activity are the purchase and sale of natural gas. Since August 2014, GVS is a wholly owned subsidiary of EnBW, and generated a turnover of €1.6 billion with gas deliveries of 55 TWh in 2013.
